Nice Butts and Flat Tummys: Weight Training For Women

Author: Anthony Myers | Filed under: weight training for women

If you were to ask a group of  women what their fitness goals were I guarantee the top two answers would be a nice flat tummy and a firm sexy butt like j-lo. Funny thing is, even my grand mother said to me “Hey Anth, How can I get a J-Lo Booty?” Lol!

So what is the secret to the nice butt and sexy tummys that are in such high demand?

Simple. Weight training for women.

Women absolutely need to train with weights, but for some reason ladies think that they need to steer clear of the weights. This couldn’t be further from the truth. When a women refuses to use weights in her workout program she is actually doing herself a disfavor.3637612

Let’s take a look at one of my favorite female bodies, Jamie Eason from Bodybuilding.com.

Jamie Eason has one nicest bodies I have ever seen on a women. She’s got the whole package. As you can see in the picture she definitely has a flat tummy and you can bet your ass that she has a nice butt. I don’t want to post any offensive pictures, but if you don’t believe me just type her name in Google images.

Want to know a secret about Jamie Eason? She uses weights.

The benefits of weight training for women don’t stop at a nice butt and abs.Plenty of women also want to have toned up arms and guess how you can achieve nice arms? You guessed it… weight training.

While there are plenty of weight training programs for women, the shocking truth is that men and women don’t need to train differently. A women can train with weights the same way as a guy. Don’t worry ladies, you won’t turn into some big meat head. It’s impossible. Women just don’t have the high levels of testosterone pumping through their bodies that it would take to get that big. So don’t be fooled there are no special weight training exercises for women. Girls just look better doing them then us guys ;)

So next time you hit the gym, take a step outside of your comfort zone. Leave the cardio area and go pick up some real weight!

Are you a female who recently starting using weights in your routine? Do you plan on using weights in your routine? Why don’t you use weights in your routine?

I’d like to hear from you, let me know what you think in the comments.

  1. Hi,
I am a 33 year old women with 4 kids. I weigh 120lbs and I am 5\’5. I get a lot of compliments on my figure by alot of people when they find out my age and how many kids I have.
Even though I am proud of the way I look for the my age and the kids I have..all of that is with clothes on..I am not extremely happy with how I look with my clothes off. Don\’t get me wrong, its not horrible…but it is not the look I desire. My stomach is little(not flat!)..I say little because at the top it is flat but in the lower portion I have a little pudge. I had a little firm butt years ago, but with the weight gain and loss with my pregnancies..I lost firmness.
So now the outcome of my body is jiggly and my butt has no muscle and is now a fallen saggy butt.
I tried squats but I it was hard for me to squat in the right posture. It looked like my body was tilting more forward.
I looked at your ATG info and I think that might help me squat correctly because I am going down further verses the 90 degree.
P.S. If you have more tips, I would appreciate it, I know my man will be surprised at the difference.

  3. Times have changed Khai!

33 years old with 4 kids is nothin!… If you don’t believe me, check this women out — Chicken Tuna. Shes a 41 year old mother and her body is better than any girl my age that I’ve ever met. It may not be your goal to look like her, but it’s definitely motivating and really puts into perspective that age doesn’t mean jack!

Now,Let’s fix your squatting problem and get you an even nicer butt!
It sounds like your main problem is proper form and remainingcomfortable while squatting.

    1. I hate the smith machine, but sometimes for a beginner it’s necessary just to get comfortable with squatting. I recommend you spend a few weeks squatting on the smith machine just so you can get the basic movement down pat.

    2. Look up while you’re squatting, it will help you keep your back straight and not lean over so much.

    3. Do body weight squats!

    4. When you’re comfortable enough to use the free bar, go light… Actually, you don’t even have to use any weight. The first few times don’t even add any weight. Just use the bar.

For more tips I recommend you do a few things. First, hop on my mailing list over at http://www.fitness-path.com/main.php — Don’t worry, I don’t send annoying stuff. I only send out useful fitness info. Also, when you join my mailing list you get free access to download my 40page ebook “The Better Body Formula“. Second, subscribe to my newest youtube channel — http://www.youtube.com/fitnesspath — I just set this up recently but I plan to add several videos each week and I actually just added a “Women’s Fitness Series” to my drawing board of upcoming fitness videos… You would really enjoy that.

Lastly. Don’t ever get yourself down. From the sounds of it, you’re doing great. You get compliments, take them and smile. Like they say, you are your own worse critique. If people are saying you look good, then you look good. Everyone should be confident, no matter how they look. It’s okay to be a little cocky ;)
