Fun Cardio – 6 Ways To Make Cardio Less Boring
Author: Anthony Myers | Filed under: turbulence trainingHappy Halloween.
Today is the day where everyone dresses up in really scary costumes or really sexy costumes. If you were forced to wear something scary rather than sexy because you just weren’t in the best shape this year, here are 6 ways to make cardio less boring. Use these 6 tips and next year you’ll be the one wearing the King Leonidas costume if you’re a guy or sexy playmate costume if you’re a girl (if you’re the sexy playmate make sure to send me an e-mail and I’ll invite you to my Halloween party)
So, finally. Here are 6 ways to make cardio less boring.
Do Activites You Like
If you can’t stand getting on a treadmill, then don’t. Do some sort of cardio that you like. People tend to think that if something is “fun” it can’t be good for them. Get outside and play basketball with a group of friends. I could sit here all day naming fun activities that burn a ton of calories. Pretty much any sport burns a ton of calories and is way better than running on a treadmill. Boxing, Football, Volleyball, Swimming, Baseball, Tennis, etc. Most gyms offer classes as well, look into the different activities your gym offers.
Listen To Music
If you don’t have one yet, invest into an iPod. Ipod’s are one of the easiest ways to make cardio fun. If you’ve got a killer play list those 20 minutes of cardio will fly by. If you have any good songs that really pump you up in the gym, let me know the song name and artist in the comments section… I’m revising my play list this weekend.
Do Your Cardio FAST
Slow cardio is boring, plain and simple. Any form of cardio is better than none, but if you can’t stand doing slow cardio then try doing fast cardio. I recommend looking into H.I.I.T cardio.
Do Cardio With A Friend
Doing your cardio with a friend, it will go by 10x quicker. If you’re competitive like I am, you can make a contest out of it. See who can run the fastest the longest or make up some other rules.
Do Cardio Outside
I hate being in the gym longer than I have to. Go for a run around your neighborhood or an area with nice scenery.
Don’t Do Cardio At All!
This weekend I was at the fitness info summit I got to meet, learn from and hangout with some of the top fitness professionals including Vince Delmonte, Craig Ballantyne, Chris Mccombs and Bedros Keuilian.
Craig Ballantyne is well known for his anti-cardio fat loss methods. If you hate cardio (and I know you do) I definitely recommend Craig Ballantyne’s Turbulence Training program.
